New York City Is Playing The Worst Game Of Musical Chairs Ever

, ,

Hey NYC, thanks for the 200 homeless shelter beds. Sincerely, the 3,800 homeless youth who are sleeping on your streets every night (specifically the 1,500 LGBTQ youth who are often turned away from shelters).

Throwing your kids out of the house for coming out of the closet is bad parenting. Not giving them a place to stay is bad governmenting. What? Governmenting is totally a word, shut up.

UPDATE [11/5/2012]: The Ali Forney Center mentioned in the video below was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. If you wish to help cover the expenses of setting up a temporary shelter for these kids elsewhere, please visit the Ali Forney Center website and contribute what you can. Thank you.
